What does the qualification cover?
The purpose of this qualification is to guide and assess the development of knowledge surrounding working in the Health Sector. This qualification may facilitate direct entry into the NHS as this qualification forms the basis of the Knowledge and Skills Framework that all new NHS staff have to complete and all existing staff have to undertake for their personal development.
Who is it suitable for?
All those who wish to work or are working in a healthcare setting.
What are the entry requirements?
You should be at least 16 years old. CACHE does not set any other entry requirements but colleges and training providers may have their own guidelines.
How many credits are required to complete it?
The Certificate requires 18 credits.
How is it assessed?
It will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a portfolio of evidence, practical demonstrations and assignments.
Do you need to be working to take this qualification?
Learners do not need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement as this is a knowledge only qualification.
How long does it take to complete?
You can usually complete it in less than 6 months.
What related qualifications can you progress to?
It is anticipated that learners will progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support Services, or specialist qualifications reflecting the context in which they work
